Health & wellness comes from within and the best tools for deep self-healing and positive transformation lay in the gentle hands of Ayurveda, sister Science to Yoga, the oldest healing system known to human kind.

Ayurveda is a natural healing system that has its roots in ancient India. It dates back more than 5,000 years making it the oldest healing system in the world. The knowledge contained in Ayurveda deals with nature, scope and purpose of life, and includes its metaphysical and physical aspects – health and disease, happiness and sorrow, pain and pleasure. Ayurveda defines life as the conjunction of body, mind and spirit found in cosmic consciousness and embracing all of creation.

Ayurveda is a medical science and its purpose is to heal and to maintain the quality, harmony and longevity of life.

Yoga & Ayurveda are sister sciences which were developed simultaneously and created to be intertwined within in each-other, as ONE. The play a big role as integral systems within the greater Vedic knowledge which states that: “The whole universe is ONE SELF and the key to cosmic knowledge lies within our own minds and hearts”. – As Vedic disciplines, Yoga and Ayurveda work together to boost their immense benefits they have on all the levels of existence.

Yoga is above all a science of Self-realization. Is a spiritual practice (a journey) that ultimately teaches us to learn to tame that -constant chatter of the mind- through the practice of asana as well as other Yogic techniques, mainly through meditation so to lift us beyond the sorrow and ignorance of the material world.

Yoga teaches us how to transcend from our outer bodily and ego-bound identity -which constricts our existence-, to our immortal Self that dwells within our hearts. It provides the KEY to all spiritual development, which in the VEDIC sense translates to “gaining knowledge of our innate nature beyond time, space, death and suffering”.

Ayurveda is primarily a science of Self-healing intended at removing disease – at its root- in body and mind, simultaneously promoting psychological wellbeing. Self-healing meaning: restoring the inner self to a wholesome equilibrium, that being the source of spiritual healing.
Yet the ultimate goal of both classical Ayurveda & Yoga is Self-Realization – the highest form of Self-healing.Ayurveda embraces all health disciplines by uniquely suggesting a treatment regime appropriate for each individual, looking at the problem/disease from its roots, treating the whole person not just the organ or system involved.

According to Ayurvedic philosophy, the entire cosmos is an interplay of the energies of the 5 elements – Ether (space), Air, Fire, Water and Earth. (as in TCM -Traditional Chinese Medicine) Ayurveda groups the 5 elements into three basic types of energy or functional principles that are present in everybody and everything, AKA the 3 DOSHAS: Vata, Pitta and Kapha or deviations, organizational powers of nature, constitutions or humours/principles, binding the 5 elements into flesh.Every dosha is composed of the 5 elements. However, 2 elements predominate in each:

VATA: Ether and Air
PITTA: Fire and Water
KAPHA: Water and Earth.

Dosha is that which can become vitiated and then affects the bodily tissues, leading to disease. As long as the doshas are normal in quality and quantity, they maintain a healthy psychophysiology.

The moment they go out of balance, they corrupt, vitiate or pollute the dhatus (bodily tissues) and then they become dosha. (here meaning impurity)

Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the very foundation of Ayurveda.
